Returns & Exchanges
At Highland Kilt Company, we want you to love your kilt and Highland wear. If something isn’t quite right, we’ll do our best to make it right.
Please review the policy below before requesting a return or exchange.
Exchanges (Most Common)
Need a different size, color, or style? We’re happy to help.
Most non-custom items may be exchanged if:
• You contact us first for a Return Authorization
• The item is returned within 7 days of delivery
• The item is unworn, unused, and in original condition
Once we receive your return, we will ship your replacement as quickly as possible.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for exchanges.
Returns for Refund
If an exchange will not solve the issue, we may offer a refund if:
• You request a Return Authorization within 7 days of delivery
• The item is returned within 7 days of delivery
• The item is unworn, unused, and in original condition
Approved refunds will be issued to the original form of payment.
Please note:
• Shipping charges are non-refundable
• Returns are subject to a 10% restocking fee
Condition of Returned Items
Items must be returned in new, unworn condition.
Returns may be refused if items show signs of:
• Wear
• Damage
• Odor (smoke, cologne, etc.)
• Pet hair or debris
• Improper storage
Event & Occasion Wear Policy
Kilts and Highland wear purchased for weddings, events, festivals, or other special occasions must be returned unworn and in original condition to qualify for a return or exchange.
Items that show signs of being worn for an event-including creasing, odor, stains, or general wear-may not be eligible for return.
We encourage customers to try on items promptly after delivery to ensure proper fit well before any planned event.
Product Defects
If a manufacturing defect becomes apparent within 60 days of purchase, please contact us.
At our discretion we may offer:
• A replacement of the same item
• A comparable substitute
• Store credit
We stand behind our products and will work with you to resolve any legitimate quality issue.
Custom & Special Order Items
Items that are custom made or ordered to your measurements are considered final sale.
These items cannot be returned or refunded unless a manufacturing defect is present.
If a defect occurs, we will replace the item with an identical product whenever possible.
Why These Policies Exist
Over the years we’ve received some interesting return requests, including:
• Kilts worn for weddings and returned afterward
• Kilts worn for months before requesting a size exchange
• Kilts stored in a trunk for two months and returned because they “smelled funny”
We do our best to keep our policies fair and reasonable for everyone.

Return Authorization Required
Please contact us before returning any item so we can issue a Return Authorization.
Unauthorized returns may be refused.
